AITC Summer Workshop Series

Registration is open for our 2025 summer professional development opportunities. These in-person workshops will equip you with the tools necessary for integrating agriculture into your instruction. Each workshop will include a farm tour, lunch, and hands-on instruction where participants will hear from industry experts and receive resources to use in the classroom immediately. The cost to attend is $25. Participants will receive a certificate to present to their home district for renewal credit.

OPTIONAL COURSE – A participant may choose ONE workshop to complete additional assignments for to earn 20 renewal credits for our SCDE-approved course. Participants may attend multiple workshops, but may only take the SCDE-approved course once throughout the summer. Moore Farms Botanical Garden (Lake City) - Located in Lake City, South Carolina, The Moore Farms Botanical Garden mission is to promote research and education in horticulture, agriculture, and forestry for the benefit of the people of South Carolina and beyond. Join us for this workshop to see the beautiful artistic side of gardening while also learning all about horticulture.

Clemson Extension TEACH Center (Charleston) - Join as we tour Clemson Extension's Coastal Research and Education Center, along with the brand new TEACH (Training, Education, Agriculture, and Community Health) Center in Charleston, South Carolina. We will focus on all things fruit and vegetable, while learning a few gardening tricks.

Satterwhite Dairy (Newberry) - Satterwhite Dairy is a family owned dairy in Newberry, South Carolina. This state of the art dairy facility houses a 60 stall rotary parlor that milks around 1,600 cows, three times a day. Join us to tour this farm and learn all about the dairy industry, followed by a classroom session at Newberry College.

WP Rawl (Lexington) - WP Rawl is located in Lexington, South Carolina and has been dedicated to providing fresh, wholesome vegetables from their family farm since beginning operation in 1925. Today, they specialize in leafy greens and other specialty vegetables available for purchase around the country. This workshop will highlight advances in modern agriculture and show how food goes from the farm to your plate.
